Good morning! Similar to others, this is my first attempt at blogging. I typically haven't been interested in blogging, but unknown if that's because I don't think I have something interesting to contribute or if my hectic schedule limits the extra-curricular activities. A majority of my posts will be in regards to my class on Health and Wellness; however, maybe something more will be able to come through as I become more accustomed to blogging lifestyle.
Currently, I am on bed rest and am only 29 weeks pregnant; the Journey on Relaxation was a great technique to utilize as I am going insane with having to hold still and relax. I have pre-ecclampsia, and so taking part in this exercise was very beneficial for myself as I could feel my body relaxing and my blood pressure going down, even if only for a short while. Typically, I use music therapy to relax, but the entire exercise was comforting and beneficial.
Hey Becky! I'm sorry to hear that you're on bed rest. That is no fun! I can definitely see how the journey on relaxation would be helpful. I'm sure there are a bunch of things like that to help you with the preeclampsia. I have an 11 week old now, but when I was 30 weeks pregnant I was also put on bed rest. I kept going into preterm labor for no apparent reason. I can totally sympathize with the feeling of restlessness. I was very used to being physically active so being restricted was not fun. Some things that helped me get through was making a list of movies that I had been wanting to see (mostly chick flicks since my husband will never watch those with me), reading books that had been recommended to me, and finding low maintenance baby crafts to keep me busy. I loved making stuff for my little one. I also made a schedule of what to watch and do so that I wasn't as focused on all the things I wasn't allowed to do. Good luck to you! :)
ReplyDeleteI would be going crazy having to lay in one place all day too! Of course it's nice to do every once in a while, but definitely gets boring! I felt the same way about blogging, but I think I leaned more towards the "my blog is going to be boring and pointless and no one will want to read it" side. I've seen others before and they just seem to have so much to talk about, where I basically draw a blank. lol I'm hoping that this class will make me feel a little differently about it eventually! I'm glad the exercise brought you a little bit of ease to help you through your pregnancy! I hope the rest goes well for you! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that you are on bed rest. It is great that you have chosen this class and also that you are attending school while awaiting the birth of your child. At least school should keep your mind occupied. Take all this time for yourself and do things for you because soon it will be all about the little one. Congrats on your soon to come little bundle of joy!
